Tree is Decorated! Finally...

Landen and I (mostly Landen) decorated the tree this morning while Miss L was at school. I adore decorating the tree with him but to be 100% honest it is soooo hard for me!! LOL I want the stuff where I want it ~ I want it as close to perfect as possible, I don't want the ornaments all jumbled together in one spot... but the reality is that is not what this season is about... And letting Landen participate as much as possible is so important... so here is our perfectly jumbled tree!! :)

Having soo much fun!!
This is my most treasured ornament... I have MANY that I love and MANY that Landen has handmade that are so special but this little cheap plastic icicle with a plastic bell that says NOEL was hanging on the tree in the hospital when I was born (12/26/75) and my Papa "took" it to mark the occasion and then he saved it for MANY years before handing it over to me with the story of where it came from... Landen picked the perfect spot and we hung it together.. :) Merry Christmas Papa we miss you so much but know you are in heaven celebrating this season with Jesus!

Cool, Rainy Sunday!

Yesterday was cold and rainy ~ so glad we got all of our outside Christmas decorations up on Friday!! The kids and I left Rick alone to watch football and we ran some errands and did some shopping with my mom! Leighton slept in the car for the 1st 2 hours so my mom stayed in the car with her while I ran in and out of several places and then we headed to Target! The kids LOVE target!! They left with these new jammies from Mimi and I got Leighton this little hat to wear on the play ground at school and she wore it all night!! Cuties!!

She was tired of me taking her picture at this point! lol

Blessed Day!

We had a great turkey day!! Rick's parents came over as well as Rick's Aunt Becky, her friend Ray and her 2 sons Ryan and Travis. Landen LOVES it when Ryan and Travis come over because they love to play with him!! My parents were in Oklahoma so we did miss them but other than that it was a great day!!

A Sweet Compliment...

This year while Landen was playing t-ball I brought my camera ALOT... and I took LOTS of pictures... And I ended up taking a bunch of the coach's kids, because of that Jennifer {their mommy} asked me if I would take their Christmas pictures?? At first I was like I can't do that ~ I'm definitely not a professional... but what she really wanted was what I had taken at the t-ball fields. Natural pics of her kids so after some thought I decided I would do it for them.
We went yesterday and and had our little "mini session". I was kinda nervous about it ~ after all she wanted Christmas pictures and I did not know if I could deliver!!!
410 pictures later we left and I headed home to edit (if you call it that) and then delivered her CD last night.
I got some cute ones and it was kinda fun!! I'm not going to quit my day job or anything, but it was sweet that she thought enough of my hobby to trust me with doing this! :)
After edits we ended up with 220 and these are 2 of my favs! I had to share... after all it's all about the blog book and I wanted this in there!! haha
p.s. the kids were sooooo good and sooo easy to work with

New Moon with girlfriends!

I got invited earlier this week to go see New Moon tonight and until last night I didn't care but I'm sooo glad Rick and i watched Twilight last night ~ I'm an addict!! In fact, I plan to start the books tomorrow!! When i mentioned that they were going Rick was like you should go! And he is WAY nicer than me becuase I would not have wanted him to see it without me!! What a catch he is!!! We had a fun time and the movie was great!!
Brittney even brought us some "blood" treats and party burritos from Bueno!!! Seriously how cute are these???

Rick and I are on the Twilight/New Moon bandwagon!

We rented Twilight last night and LOVED it!
Neither of us have been that interested but all hype around New Moon peeked our curiosity and we decided we would give it a try and we are hooked!! We almost watched it again as soon as it finished but it was like 1am! :) Can't wait to go see New Moon now.... and I totally didn't read the books but after the 1st movie how can you not be Team Edward??? :)

Thanksgiving "Feast" #2 ~ Landen's Class

Today we had Landen's class party and it was ALOT more work than Leighton's ~ I guess because they do alot more at 4 1/2 than they do at 20 months!! The kids had lots of fun!! Above they were "singing" their Thanksgiving prayer to the parents!

This is Landen before school ~ it was raining so I told him to stand here and let me take his picture ~ he did the posing all on his own - complete with a cute but fake smile!! haha

The table all set and ready for the kids

Making his craft "an apple turkey"!!

Proud!!

How cute is this???? He names him "bolt-zy"

Pre-School Thanksgiving "Feast"

Today was Leighton's thanksgiving "feast" at school. She had lots of fun with all her little friends! They "feasted" on turkey, ham, cheese. crackers. fruit, cookies and juice!
I got there a bit early so I got to watch them do some songs, so cute!! They sang Jesus loves me and did their little hand motions with it, 5 little ladybugs also with hand motions and a BIG "WHOOPS" in between each verse and now I know why she says that all the time! And then they sang and danced to "God Made Me to: Jump and Hop etc...

Leighton, Charlotte and Abby

Passing out the "feast"!

And I brought the party favors and got these super cute and yummy cookies!
Round 2: tomorrow in Landen's class!

Thank you Jenny!!!

for this most fabulous skirt!! It arrived in the mailed yesterday just in time for Miss L's thanks giving party at school today! And it matches her thanksgiving shirt perfectly!! Leighton LOVES it! She twirled and twirled!! :) Thank you jenny ~ we love you!!
